Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash – Girraween 1 May

Northern Territory Police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred overnight on Girraween Road, involving a motor vehicle and two off road dirt motorcycles.

At approximately 8:15pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of the crash, prompting the deployment of emergency services to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews discovered two male youths in their early teens. A 15-year-old was declared deceased, while a 14-year-old suffered serious non-life threatening injuries. The 38-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, provided assistance and reported the crash to police. He tested negative for alcohol and drugs and is assisting police with the investigation.

The injured rider received initial treatment at the scene before being transported to Royal Darwin Hospital in a stable condition for further medical attention.
