Police Make Arrest – Serious Harm At Casuarina 1 May

Last night, Northern Territory Police arrested a man following an altercation at a shopping carpark in Casuarina. Shortly after 9pm, police received a report of a serious stabbing incident involving two men.

It is alleged that the victim, a 39-year-old man, was walking in the car park when he was confronted by an unknown male. The confrontation stemmed from alleged damage to the offender’s vehicle, leading to an argument.

The offender allegedly produced a knife and proceeded to stab the victim multiple times in the head, neck, chest, and arm before leaving the scene. St John Ambulance attended and treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

CCTV footage was reviewed, providing a description of the offender, who was later located and arrested at a residence in Coconut Grove. The man, aged 32, was taken to Palmerston Watch House and remains in custody. He is expected to be charged later today.

Detectives from Serious Crime have taken carriage of the matter, and the investigation remains ongoing.
