A police officer has been charged with assault following an incident in south west Sydney earlier this year.
Following an internal investigation into an incident at Smith Street, Wentworthville on Thursday 26 January 2023, a male constable, attached to South West Metro Region, has been served a court attendance notice today (Monday 29 April 2024), charged with three counts of common assault.
The 26-year-old will appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 13 June 2024.
His employment status is under review.
