Police Release Images Of Man After Coburg Robbery

Police have released images of a man they want to identify following the robbery of an 89-year-old woman in Coburg earlier last month.

Investigators have been told the woman was walking on Blair Street when she was approached by the male offender about 10am on Thursday 18 April.

The offender attempted to grab the woman’s handbag and a struggle ensued during which the victim fell to the ground.

Her attacker continued to attempt to grab the handbag as the victim lay on the ground maintaining hold of her bag.

The offender was unsuccessful and was last seen running towards Barrow Street with only the victims Myki card.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described to be Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20 to 30-years-old, approximately 180cm tall, with a slim build and brown beard.

He was wearing a black hooded windcheater with a white printed logo ‘Build homes, not prisons’, dark coloured jeans and tan coloured shoes.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident.
