Two charged after woman’s body located in North Bondi – SF Eacham

Two men will face court on drug charges after the body of a woman was located at an address in North Bondi yesterday.

About 9.20am (Tuesday 30 April 2024), emergency services were called to a unit on Hardy Street, North Bondi, following reports a woman was found unresponsive.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended, alongside NSW Ambulance paramedics, and located the body of a 19-year-old woman.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old man, who had an unrelated outstanding warrant, was arrested at the home and taken to Waverley Police Station.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command established Strike Force Eacham and commenced an investigation into this incident.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force officers executed a search warrant at an address on Flood Street, Bondi, about 5.10pm yesterday.

During the search, police seized 1g of Methylamphetamine and cannabis at the scene.

Police also arrested a 34-year-old man at the address who was also taken to Waverley Police Station.

The 32-year-old man was charged with the outstanding warrant for larceny value less than or equal to $2000, three counts of enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner/occupier, destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

The 34-year-old man was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug.

The 32-year-old was refused bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court today (Wednesday 1 May 2024) and the 34-year-old man was issued a field court attendance notice to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 18 June 2024.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the woman’s cause of death.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Investigations under Strike Force Eacham are ongoing as detectives continue to look into a number of lines of inquiry including misadventure.
