Appeal: Break and enter in South Bank, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance following a break and enter of a commercial vessel in South Bank overnight.

Initial information indicates shortly after 11pm, two unknown persons have arrived within the vicinity of the Cultural Centre Public Pontoon in South Bank before forcing entry to the vessel and stealing items from onboard.

It is believed the engine was started and the vessel left its berth.

The engine then failed, and the vessel drifted towards the Dockside ferry terminal near Ferry Street, Kangaroo Point, where it came to a rest this morning.

Those involved left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam, CCTV or other vision from the South Bank or Dockside ferry terminal area to come forward. Additionally any sightings of persons potentially leaving the river between the two areas.

Investigations are continuing.
