Appeal for information after fail to stop crash Melonba- Strike Force Eustace

Police have released images of a releasing images of a small dark coloured sedan or coupe they believe can assist with inquiries into a fail to stop crash in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 11.20pm (Sunday 30 June 2024), emergency services were called to Abell Road, Melonba, after reports an injured man was located roadside.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 79-year-old man, however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.

Strike Force Eustace has been established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, officers have released images and video and are appealing for the public’s help to identify a small dark coloured sedan or coupe in the area at the time of the incident and people traveling inside.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have information, dashcam footage from the area, or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
