Appeal for information following North Shore break-in – Strike Force Sweetenham

Detectives from Strike Force Sweetenham are appealing for public help as investigations into a break-in and theft of luxury vehicles in Sydney’s north.

Strike Force Sweetenham is a metropolitan region investigation into the theft of high-performance and luxury vehicles.

Police have been told about 12.30am on Thursday 9 May 2024, a 32-year-old man was inside his home on Warrawee Road, Warrawee, when he confronted a group of five people attempting to steal his car from the driveway.

The man was allegedly kicked and punched while two of the group entered the premises and rummaged through the house, stealing a set of car keys.

The group fled and the man was treated by paramedics for cuts and bruising to his face and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Shortly after, police have been told a white Mercedes was stolen from a home on Arcadia Road, Galston, after unknown people allegedly broke into the home and stole car keys while the occupants slept inside.

As inquiries continue into the break-ins, investigators have released CCTV vision of two people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first male is depicted wearing track pants and hoodie with a cross-body bag.

The second male depicted is wearing light coloured track pants a light-coloured hoodie with a black stripe across the front, sneakers and a bumbag.

Two males aged 16 and 18 remain before the Courts in relation to the matter.
