Appeal to locate teenager missing from Rooty Hill

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a girl missing from Sydney’s west.

Shaya Baig, aged 13, was last seen at a school on North Parade, Rooty Hill, about 2pm on Monday (13 May 2024).

When she could not be located or contacted, Shaya was reported missing to officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries to locate her.

Police and family hold concerns for Shaya’s welfare due to her age.

Shaya is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of medium build, about 170cm tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a school uniform with a navy top and carrying a black backpack.

She is known to frequent the Mt Druitt, Plumpton, Blacktown, and Sydney CBD areas.

Anyone with information into her whereabouts or sights Shaya is urged to contact Mt Druitt Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
