Ashlee Berry appointed Property Council ACT & Capital Region Executive Director

The Property Council of Australia today announced the appointment of Ashlee Berry as its ACT and Capital Region Executive Director.

Ms Berry brings with her a wealth of ACT advocacy experience honed in the property industry and as a lawyer. Prior to joining the Property Council Ashlee worked as Member Services Director at Master Builders ACT, as a senior associate in a private legal practice and as a solicitor in NSW.

Property Council of Australia Chief Executive Mike Zorbas said he was delighted to appoint Ms Berry to the role following an extensive recruitment process.

“Ashlee’s leadership nous, smarts and warmth will position her well as the champion of our city-creating ACT and Capital Region members,” Mr Zorbas said.

“Ashlee’s policy experience will make her a formidable advocate for investment in the place making and jobs that will power the next phase of the region’s prosperity,” he said.

ACT Division President and General Manager at Amalgamated Property Group Phil O’Brien welcomed Ms Berry’s appointment.

“With challenging issues ahead in planning and housing and a territory election in full view, it is a critical time for our sector and for the region more broadly to have a strong voice,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Ashlee’s many skills ensure she will make a positive leadership mark on the future of the city and beyond in this role.

“Division Council and I are delighted to work with Ashlee and I know she will hit the ground running,” he said.

Ms Berry said she was excited to step into the role.

“It is a pleasure to take a leadership role in an organisation whose members are essential to the economic strength of the territory,” Ms Berry said.

“It will be a privilege to lead conversations that matter deeply to the lives of people in the territory and Capital region. I look forward to continuing the positive relationships and solutions-focused work of the Property Council in the ACT and advocating on behalf of our members on essential matters of public policy,” she said.

Ms Berry will commence the role in coming months.
