Northern Territory industry representatives are in the UK and Ireland this month to promote working opportunities in the Territory.
Territory employers are encouraged to log their jobs on WorkerConnect now so their vacancies can be discovered by jobseekers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
This year’s worker attraction events kick off in Birmingham today, Saturday 18 May followed by events in Leeds on Monday 20 May, Liverpool on Wednesday 22 May, Belfast on Saturday 25 May, Cork on Monday 27 May and Limerick on Tuesday 28 May.
Radio and social marketing campaigns to promote each of the Northern Territory worker attraction events are in play in each destination with more than 1,000 job seekers expected to attend all six events.
The UK and Ireland information sessions are part of the Global Worker Attraction Program which is designed to raise the profile and promote the Northern Territory as a desirable place to live and work and assist Territory employers experiencing recruitment difficulties to fill jobs with skilled and semi-skilled workers.
Targeting young and mid-age workers and families, the information sessions give prospective workers all the inside tips and information to succeed in the Territory job market as well as information on moving to the Territory and the lifestyle opportunities for singles and families.
Sectors that will be targeted include automotive, hospitality, ICT, education aged and disability services, health construction and manufacturing.
Visitors to the events will also have access to search for jobs at the events using the Territory Government’s WorkerConnect platform.
Territory employers are encouraged to upload their jobs on WorkerConnect now so they can connect with British and Irish jobseekers and find new workers through the UK and Ireland information sessions.
