City Of Canada Bay Celebrates Make Music Day 19 June

On Friday, 21 June the City of Canada Bay will join hundreds of cities around the world in a global celebration of music.

“Make Music Day is a wonderful celebration of music and creativity that provides local musicians an opportunity to showcase their talent,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.

“This is the seventh year in a row our Council has taken part in Make Music Day. We play an important role in supporting creatives and this event is the perfect way to platform and promote our local performers.”

Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day is now held on the same day in more than 750 cities in 120 countries.

The day is a DIY music festival and anyone who wants to take part – young or old, amateur or professional, of every musical persuasion – can organise their own gig or work with the City of Canada Bay to share their music with friends, neighbours, and strangers.
