Critical incident investigation into crash in Auburn

A critical incident investigation has been launched after a crash involving a police car in Sydney’s west today.

Just before midday (Friday 18 January 2019), a police vehicle and a BMW collided at the intersection of Boorea Street and Nyrang Street, Auburn.

The driver of the BMW, a 25-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.

The passenger, a six-year-old boy, was taken to Westmead Hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the police vehicle, a male Constable, and his passenger, a male Probationary Constable, were uninjured.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have attended and will investigate the circumstances of the crash.

The investigation will be subject to independent review by LECC.
