The Lawler Labor Government continues to transform Darwin’s CBD into a vibrant, revitalised green space with local Territorians and businesses encouraged to have their say on two design options for the Smith Street Streetscape Project.

Quotes to attribute to City of Darwin Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis:

“The aim of the designs are to create a cool, green and dynamic pedestrian hub in the heart of the city centre. The Smith Street Streetscape improvement is a further commitment towards a common vision between City of Darwin and the Northern Territory Government for Darwin’s future as a vibrant, liveable and tropical city.

“In addition to seeing more trees planted, the concept designs include the installation of micro mobility lanes, upgrades to infrastructure including additional pedestrian crossings, more street furniture and public art opportunities.

“Smith Street is a main hub of Darwin’s city centre and the go-to spot for locals and tourists to work, shop and socialise. I encourage everyone to have their say on the concept designs during the engagement process.”
