The Albanese Government continues to invest in high impact local projects across the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council area.
As part of this, $400,515 in federal funding under the Roads to Recovery Program has supported major stabilisation works along 1km of Burra Road, from London Bridge heading south.
The works have included the rehabilitation and widening the road by adding 100mm of gravel to the road, stabilising the existing pavement and applying a 10mm primer seal.
The project will go a long way in ensuring residents of Burra and the surrounding communities are safer on our roads.
The Albanese Government is making local roads safer with $4.4 billion available under the Roads to Recovery program over the next five years.
We’ve committed to progressively double the program’s funding to $1 billion annually, delivered in the 2024-25 Budget.
The funding increase will allow local governments to plan for the long-term maintenance and upgrade of their road network, shielding critical road safety measures from the uncertainty of budget cycles.
Under the funding boost, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council will receive an additional $5,805,339, taking its total Roads to Recovery funding to $13,443,884.
