- Ports Minister appoints new chief executive of Fremantle Port Authority
- Jodie Ransom is the second female CEO of the FPA
- Former GM – Operations with deep maritime and ports management experience
Ports Minister David Michael has announced the appointment of Jodie Ransom as CEO of the Fremantle Port Authority commencing 1 July 2024.
Ms Ransom brings a wealth of experience having spent more than 30 years in the ports and marine industries.
She was previously the General Manager – Operations at FPA and is currently the acting CEO since the tragic passing of former CEO Michael Parker. She has previously held senior positions with CBH, Svitzer and Alcoa.
Jodie is the second female CEO of the Fremantle Port Authority, following the former Governor of WA, the Hon Kerry Sanderson, who filled the role from 1991-2008.
As stated by Ports Minister David Michael:
“I congratulate Jodie Ransom on her appointment to CEO of Fremantle Port Authority.
“I am pleased to see the appointment of strong internal candidates to WA’s port authority CEO roles, showing the benefit of good succession planning.
“It was clear that Jodie’s breadth of experience across port operations, marine and shipping as well as commodity export experience made her an ideal candidate for this appointment by the FPA Board.
“Fremantle Port Authority has a significant investment plan to deliver and has a vital role in the development of industry in Western Australia. I look forward to working with Jodie to realise the opportunities in front of us.”
