Famil Program continues to connect WA with international education

  • The International Education Familiarisation Program open for expressions of interest
  • Western Australian education providers and organisations are able to apply to participate in the Famils
  • Famils are an important tool in supporting strong relationships between international education stakeholders and Western Australia

Expressions of interest to take part in the Western Australian Government’s latest International Education Familiarisation (Famil) program are now open.

The latest $300,000 program is led by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and builds on the State Government’s $1 million International Education Famil Program in 2022-23.

This Famil Program will give overseas stakeholders the opportunity to immerse themselves in the lifestyle of an international student in Western Australia.

Famils raise awareness of the State’s international education offerings via education and training engagements, institutional site visits and experiencing the amazing tourism attractions WA has to offer.

In 2022-23, 30 famils were successfully delivered, bringing around 180 influential international delegates to WA.

Expressions of interest to join the program close at 7pm on Tuesday 23 July 2024.

As stated by International Education Minister David Templeman:

“Familiarisations are a fantastic way of showing off Western Australia’s amazing education offerings to a global audience.

“Famils also provide international stakeholders a higher level of awareness and interest in choosing Western Australia as a study destination of choice.

“Building and maintaining healthy relationships with the international education market is a key goal for the State Government and famils are an opportunity to support them.”
