Fatal crash in Kareela – Sutherland Shire PAC

A man has died after a single vehicle crash in Sydney’s south.

About 10.30pm on Sunday (2 June 2024), emergency services were called to a golf club on Bates Drive, Kareela, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command were told a red Mitsubishi SUV allegedly crashed into fence before it ended up colliding with a tree.

The driver and sole occupant – a 42-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics however, he died at the scene.

There were no other injuries reported due to this incident.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
