Fatal traffic crash in South Brisbane, QLD

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal bus and pedestrian traffic crash in South Brisbane last night, June 28.

Initial investigations indicate just after 11.30pm, a bus was travelling along Melbourne Street where it struck a male pedestrian near the intersection of Cordelia Street.

Emergency services arrived at the scene a short time later, where the man in his 40s was declared deceased.

The driver of the bus, a 59-year-old North Lakes man, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for assessment.

There were 10 passengers on the bus as the time of the incident who were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have information or may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
