Firearm And Drug Arrests Western Suburbs

Cash, drugs and guns were seized following a traffic stop at Woodville North over the weekend.

About 11pm on Saturday 29 June, Western District Police stopped an Audi sedan in the car park of a service station on Torrens Road, Woodville North.

During a search of the vehicle, it will be alleged officers found a sawn-off .22 calibre rifle under the driver’s seat, along with quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine.

The driver, a 45-year-old Fulham man, was allegedly found in possession of a loaded .22 calibre magazine.

The front passenger, a 27-year-old Brahma Lodge woman, was allegedly found in possession of MDMA and heroin.

The rear passenger was a 52-year-old woman of no fixed address.

Also found within the vehicle were $73,000 in cash, a trafficable quantity of fantasy, a taser, a knife and drug paraphernalia.

The three occupants of the car were arrested and charged with various firearms, drug and weapon offences.

The vehicle was impounded for forensic examination.

A subsequent search of the driver’s Fulham address resulted in two more arrests and the seizure of a further three firearms, a set of nun chucks and more drug paraphernalia.

Arrested at Fulham were a 49-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman both of no fixed address. They were both charged with three counts of possessing a firearm without a licence and possessing a prohibited weapon.

The five arrested persons did not apply for bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Monday 1 July.
