Five Teenagers Charged Over Break And Enter, Car Thefts

Detectives attached to Strike Force Sweetenham have charged five teenagers following inquiries into alleged break and enter and car theft offences across the Sydney metropolitan area.

Strike Force Sweetenham is a metropolitan region investigation into the theft of high-performance and luxury vehicles.

About 12.30am today (Friday 14 June 2024), police observed an allegedly stolen Maserati at a petrol station on the Great Western Highway, Pendle Hill.

When officers approached the vehicle the five occupants allegedly ran from the scene, before being arrested.

During the arrest of one teenager, aged 17, was tasered, and a second 17-year-old boy was bitten by a police dog.

Three other teenage boys, all aged 16, were arrested without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized a large kitchen knife from the front passenger footwell.

All five teenagers were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

The two 17-year-olds were taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard where they were assessed and cleared of requiring any medical treatment.

They were then returned to Parramatta Police Station.

He faced a children’s court today (Friday 14 June 2024) where he was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on Friday 26 July 2024.

The other two 16-year-old boys were charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence- in company- steal etc more than $60,000, possess means of disguising face with intent commit indictable offence and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

They both faced a children’s court today (Friday 14 June 2024).

One boy was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday 26 July 2024, while the other was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday 21 June 2024.

Two police officers sustained minor injuries during the arrests and were taken to Auburn Hospital for treatment.
