Geeveston Man Charged With Wide Range Of Matters

A 24-year-old Geeveston man has been charged with a wide range of matters, following a significant investigation by Tasmania Police detectives.

The man’s offending is alleged to have occurred in June 2024, across Blackmans Bay, Mountain River, Huonville, Copping, Primrose Sands, Glenorchy, South Hobart, Cambridge, New Town, Gagebrook and Midway Point.

He has been charged with home burglary, attempted burglary, burglary (11 counts), motor vehicle stealing (4 counts), stealing (13 counts), trespass (2 counts), drive whilst disqualified (5 counts), evading police in a motor vehicle, breach of bail (2 counts), contravene conditions of notice (2 counts), computer related fraud and possess an item used for administration of a controlled drug.

Detective Sergeant Michael Manning thanked members of the public for their help in the investigation.

“We want to thank the community for their support, which helped detectives to gather evidence and apprehend the offender, and stopped the pattern of crime from continuing,” he said.

The man was remanded in custody to reappear in court in July 2024.
