Grants available for local NAIDOC Week celebrations

Community groups looking to acknowledge and celebrate NAIDOC Week this year will get financial support.

Kempsey Shire Council will offer grants to local not-for-profit organisation to host NAIDOC Week celebrations.

NAIDOC Week is held annually to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Kempsey Shire Council Manger Community Partnerships, Lyndal Harper, is pleased to provide grants to help bring people together and take part in cultural celebrations.

“NAIDOC Week is just one of the ways we can acknowledge the timeless presence of the Dunghutti and Thunggutti people and these grants will help celebrate them.”

“Grants of up to $500 are available for eligible community groups who plan to hold NAIDOC Week events and activities in the shire.”

Applications close on Thursday 9 June 2022.

NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held between 3 and 10 July 2022.
