Police and emergency services attended a crash at Port Lincoln this afternoon where a horse was hit by a car.
A child was riding the horse along Old Chapman Road, Port Lincoln about 4.30pm on Tuesday 1 January when the horse galloped into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The rider, a 10-year-old girl, and the driver of the car, a 48-year-old woman, both sustained minor injuries in the collision and were taken to the Port Lincoln Hospital.
Sadly, the horse was killed in the crash.
