Hydro house located; plants seized after search warrant in Merrylands

Police have seized over 150 cannabis plants after a hydroponic house was located in Sydney’s west.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced inquiries after receiving information about the cultivation of cannabis at a house on Morgan Street, Merrylands.

About 6.30am yesterday (Wednesday 18 September 2019) officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command’s Proactive Crime Team, with assistance from Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at the house.

Upon entry, police located a hydroponic set-up across multiple rooms in the Merrylands house. Over 150 cannabis plants and other items were seized including documentation and clothing items.

No one was home at the time and no arrests have been made.
