Latest Australian Koala Foundation animation sees Urban try meditation

Australian Koala Foundation

The Australian Koala Foundation has released their latest video of Urban the Koala, who acts as the AKF’s official mascot and spokesperson for all creatures great and small.

In this instalment, Urban can be seen trying meditation for the first time, which sparks an epiphany. Urban decides he will make a meditation track featuring the unique sounds of the Koala, including joey squeaks, general Koala communication and the infamous Koala mating call.

Urban the Koala has been developed by the Australian Koala Foundation to give a voice to the animals who can’t speak for themselves. His latest series of videos seeks to address issues the Koala faces and educate the general public in a light-hearted manner while highlighting the immediate threats being posed on Australia’s national icon.

“Our goal for Urban is to communicate with our audience in a way that is succinct and easy to digest, but also emphasising the plight that Koalas and our wider wildlife are facing every day,” the AKF Chair Deborah Tabart OAM says.

Urban the Koala will be leading the charge on September 1st for the Koala Army’s March for Creatures Great and Small, which will see the Australian Koala Foundation and members of the wider community march peacefully to Parliament House, Canberra in support of the Koala Protection Act.
