Council will begin work on repairing Main Arm Road between Dry Creek Road and Motts Road next week (1 July 2024 – weather permitting).

Phil Holloway, Byron Shire Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services, said that he knows Main Arm residents have been eager to see this work commence.

“We are pleased to begin work on this section of Main Arm Road for residents at Main Arm. We will be reconstructing the pavement – which includes stabilising and repairing the road, and ultimately making the road better,” Mr Holloway said.

“This work will be funded from Council’s maintenance budget, and a portion of this work is funded by NSW Government through disaster recovery arrangements. We know there is still more work to be done in Main Arm and we are hoping to have formal approval on other funding applications shortly. We are continuing to work with Transport for NSW to get these approved as quickly as possible,” he said.

Road users should expect some delays while work takes place. Work is expected to be complete by the end of July (weather permitting). Work hours will be 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and traffic control will be in place.
