Man charged with domestic violence and firearm offences – Orange

A man will face court today charged with domestic violence and firearm offences in the state’s central west.

About 7.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 June 2024), police attached to Central West Police District attended a home on Morobe Place, Orange, following reports of a domestic violence incident earlier that evening.

Upon arrival police arrested a 21-year-old man and he was taken to Orange Police Station.

During a search of the home police located and seized, firearm parts, two gel blaster firearms, and ammunition.

The man was charged with:

  • Common assault (DV)
  • Destroy or damage property
  • Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
  • Possess unauthorised pistol
  • Possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm
  • Possess unregistered firearm-pistol
  • Not keep firearm safely-pistol
  • Not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm
  • Acquire firearm without licence or permit-pistol, and
  • Acquire firearm no licence or permit-prohibited firearm.

He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Wednesday 12 June 2024).
