Man Dies After Essendon North Collision

A man has died following a collision in Essendon North earlier this week.

Emergency services were called to Mount Alexander Road, where a pedestrian was allegedly struck by a vehicle, just after 1.30pm on Monday, 17 June.

The pedestrian, an 84-year-old Essendon man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

The driver of the 4WD was arrested at the scene.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives charged the 47-year-old Keilor Park man with dangerous driving causing serious injury and unlicensed driving following the collision.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday 24 June.
