Man Interviewed After Dandenong Fatal Hit-run

A man has handed himself into police following an alleged hit-run fatal crash in Dandenong on Friday night.

The 21-year-old man attended Cranbourne Police Station about 3am this morning and was taken into custody.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives interviewed the Cranbourne man and he was released pending further enquiries.

The arrest follows the death of a 29-year-old Dandenong North woman who was struck by two cars while crossing Stud Road about 9pm on 7 June.

The first driver stopped and spoke with police while the second allegedly fled the scene.

Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses, particularly the driver of a car who was travelling behind a dark-coloured SUV who it’s believed witnessed the incident and may be able to provide further details or may have dashcam footage.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, with information or CCTV/dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppers.com.au
