NSW police charge pair after assault and robbery investigations at Glen Innes

Two men have been charged following investigations into an alleged assault and robbery in the state’s west last month.

Police will allege about 11.50pm on Wednesday 12 June 2019, a 43-year-old man was assaulted by two men outside a caravan park on the New England Highway, Glen Innes.

The pair took cash from the 43-year-old’s wallet and fled.

The 43-year-old man who received minor lacerations and bruising to his face contacted police and an investigation commenced.

Following inquiries by officers from Glen Innes Criminal Investigation, attached to the New England Police District, an 18-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 18 June 2019.

He was charged with robbery in company, and was refused bail at Armidale Local Court to reappear on Monday 9 September 2019.

On Sunday 7 July 2019, a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with robbery in company, and refused bail at Armidale Local Court to reappear on Wednesday 17 July 2019.
