Officer charged – Specialist Command 30 April, NSW

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into alleged sex abuse offences.

In January 2022, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation into reports of sex offences committed by a senior constable attached to a specialist command.

The alleged offences occurred between 2019 and 2020 and are alleged to have been committed within the workplace.

Following inquiries, a 59-year-old man was served a court attendance notice yesterday (Thursday 28 April 2022), for five counts of sexual touching, incite sexual act, and three counts of common assault.

The man will appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday 16 June 2022.

His employment status remains under review.
