Orange man charged with accessing, possessing and sharing child abuse material – Strike Force Glandore

Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man with alleged child abuse material offences under Strike Force Glandore.

Strike Force Glandore was established by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Internet Exploitation Unit (CIEU) to investigate an Orange man’s alleged involvement in accessing, possessing and sharing child abuse material.

Following extensive inquiries, about 7.10am on Monday 27 May 2024, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Orange, where they arrested a 21-year-old man.

During a search of the property, police located and seized a gel-blaster pistol, and electronics relevant to their investigation.

The man was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with using a carriage service to access child abuse material, using a carriage service to transmit/publish/promote child abuse, using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material, possessing an authorised pistol and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail and appeared in Orange Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 28 May 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on Thursday 25 July 2024.
