Police Lay Charges After Incident In Karrinyup

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged two people after an incident in Karrinyup yesterday, Sunday 16 June 2024, in which two people were injured.

About 2.30pm, two offenders (16) armed with knives, attended Northgate Street in Karrinyup as part of a prearranged meeting with two males (18) who were in a vehicle.

It will be alleged the two offenders, threatened the two male victims. During the altercation one of the 18-year-old victims sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and the other 18-year-old victim sustained slash wounds to his left wrist and thigh. Both victims were conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries.

One of the offenders allegedly grabbed a bag containing Cannabis from the victim’s vehicle before both offenders fled down an alleyway between Northgate Street and Edmondson Crescent.

Information received from members of the public assisted police in locating and arresting the two offenders. One was taken into custody at the Jackson Wilding Reserve and the other was taken into custody after being located hiding in a bush on Edmondson Crescent, allegedly in possession of the Cannabis stolen from the vehicle.

Two 16-year-old boys, one from Doubleview and the other from Karrinyup, have each been charged with:-

• 1 x Aggravated Armed Robbery; and

• 2 x Grievous Bodily Harm.

They are due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court today, 17 June 2024.
