Serious and Organised Crime Branch Detectives arrested five people today (Friday 31 May), including a Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle group member and a prospect, following a number of searches in the northern suburbs.
The coordinated searches of homes and businesses resulted in the seizure of approximately 3kg of methamphetamine, approximately 100g of cocaine, two cars and a motorbike.
People arrested include:
A 28-year-old man from Munno Para, he was charged with 11 counts of trafficking a controlled drug, trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
A 29-year-old woman from Munno Para, she was charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled drug.
A 38-year-old man from Munno Para West, he was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and two counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
A 53-year-old man from Munno Para West, he was charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
A 33-year-old man from Gawler South, he was charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled drug and trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
The men from Munno Para and Munno Para West have been refused bail and will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 3 May. The Gawler South man and Munno Para woman have been released on bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 31 July.
Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch, Detective Superintendent Shane Addison said, “Illicit drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine has no place in the community and causes significant harm.
“Removing this amount of drugs from the community is a very good outcome and demonstrates the commitment of SA Police to keep the South Australia community safe.”
