Police Seek Information On Hit And Run In Alice Springs 19 June

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a hit and run occurred in Alice Springs on Monday.

Around 11:30am, police received reports that a person riding a scooter had been struck by a green Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Leichardt Terrace and Undoolya Road. The scooter rider was stationary at the time of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render assistance or report the incident to police and fled the scene.

The victim suffered significant injuries to their foot and was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for assessment. They have since been conveyed interstate for specialist treatment.

Investigations by general duties officers have subsequently identified a 21-year-old male suspect and the vehicle involved has been located and seized. An image of the vehicle has been provided and the suspect remains outstanding.
