Police Update: Hit And Run At Golden Beach

Police have charged a 28-year-old Caboolture man with multiple property offences, after an alleged hit and run incident at Golden Beach on July 1.

Police were initially called to reports an allegedly stolen Ford Ranger had crashed into a house on Anning Avenue, Golden Beach around 5.35am.

That car was allegedly stolen from a Wurtulla address that same morning.

No one was injured during the crash, however the dwelling and a vehicle parked at the residence were damaged.

The driver fled the scene but was located in the Pumicestone Passage, swimming towards Pelican Waters.

The man then climbed into a boat, and then a second boat, where he allegedly made threats.

Specialist police engaged with the man and arrested him without incident.

The 28-year-old man has been charged with 20 offences, including four counts of enter premises and commit, four counts of wilful damage, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.

He is expected to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 2.
