Cessnock City Mayor Jay Suvaal encourages all pet owners of dogs and/or puppies, who haven’t yet microchipped them, to take advantage of this great opportunity.

“Microchipping your pet is a vital aspect of responsible pet ownership, ensuring their safe return home in case they become lost or separated,” said Clr Suvaal

“Council is dedicated to taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of furry family members in our community.

“By offering these free microchipping sessions, Council aims to empower pet owners by providing a practical solution for pet identification.”

Due to this being an outdoor event, for the safety and comfort of all attendees, cats are not permitted. Additionally, participants are also asked to ensure their dogs are on leads or in a carrier on the day, and throughout the duration of the event.
