Property offences – Millingimbi

Eight youths have been apprehended following the unlawful entry of three properties at Millingimbi on Saturday.

The offenders allegedly stole a number of items and caused damage to all three properties before being arrested by local police yesterday. It is believed two of the offenders also unlawfully entered a residence the same morning.

Seven youths were released for youth diversion, while one is expected to be served a summons.

Acting Superintendent Northern Division Daniel Whitfield-Jones said strong community relationships are integral to remote policing.

“While it’s disappointing that these individuals have done the wrong thing, we have some community members who have greatly assisted us in identifying the offenders,” he said.

A ninth male, aged 25, remains outstanding. He is described as Aboriginal with a slim build, dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He may have a mullet style haircut.
