Property Theft Offences at Yarranlea, QLD

Police have charged two men with several property offences following an alleged break and enter at Yarranlea in the early hours of Thursday, June 13.

It will be alleged the two men entered a premises on Roche Road around 12am and stole a number of items, before leaving in a Toyota Hilux.

Investigations led police to locate the Hilux being driven at Condamine Plains around 6:30am that same day, before the driver left the road and drove through farmland before it became bogged.

A 42-year-old Dalby man was seen walking through nearby farmland in a short time later and was subsequently arrested around 7am.

The Hilux was allegedly stolen from an address in Marmadua on May 13.

Following further investigations, officers and specialist police attended a Condamine Plains address around 12pm yesterday, where they engaged with an armed man.

Following several hours, the 34-year-old Dalby man was able to be taken into custody without incident around 7:20pm.

The 34-year-old Dalby man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass, and one count each of enter premieses with intent to commit, enter premises and commit, evade, unlicenced driving.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today, June 14.

The 42-year-old Dalby man has been charged with enter premises and commit, enter premises with intent to commit, obstruct police, possession of implements, trespass, unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on July 2.
