Public Appeal: Grievous Bodily Harm at Surfers Paradise, QLD

Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak with, as part of their investigation into the grievous bodily harm of a man at Surfers Paradise in November.

Around 9.20pm on Friday November 23, a 20-year-old Kuluin man was walking north-east along Peninsular Drive with a friend, when he passed two men who were not known to him and picked up one of their beverages.

A verbal altercation ensued, before one of the men shoved the 20-year-old and the other struck him in the back of the head, causing the 20-year-old to fall to the ground and hit his head on the pavement.

Both men have then fled the scene on foot, last seen running towards Ferny Avenue.

The 20-year-old suffered multiple skull fractures, brain swelling and temporary loss of hearing in one ear.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault – or has any information in regard to the identity of the man pictured in the footage – to come forward.
