Scam Alert At Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast police are aware of reports of a scam that impersonates police officers requesting evidence.

During investigations, police officers may send you a text or email to request you upload evidence, like photos or CCTV footage, to a secure website, Axon.

However, you will be aware that this request is on its way as you would have had previous discussions about it with the investigating officer.

Legitimate ‘Evidence Share Request’ emails will be sent from this email address: [email protected]

‘Evidence Share Request’ text messages may come from an unknown number, however they will include the relevant QP number (occurrence or reference number) and police officer’s name.

Please check both these details and if in doubt, contact the investigating officer you have previously been in contact with, or your local station.

If you believe you are a victim of this scam, please do not engage or open the link and report it.

There are multiple ways you can report a scam, as listed below…
