Police are appealing for information to locate a mother after the body of newborn baby was located in Sydney’s south-west today.
About 11.20am (Monday 31 August 2026), emergency services responded to reports that the body of a baby had been located in a garbage bin along Harrow Road, Auburn.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and located the body of a newborn boy.
Police have established a crime scene and Auburn detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
As investigations continue, police hold serious concerns for the welfare of the baby’s mother.
Officers are urging the mother to attend her nearest hospital to receive urgent care for herself.
