Southern Feeder Road to be renamed, Orange360 funding agreement on Council agenda

Orange Council
  • Southern Feeder Road renaming

At last night’s meeting, Councillors voted to change the name of the Southern Feeder Road to the Southern Distributor Road upon completion of Stage 4 of construction.

Council resolved in October 2023 to undertake community engagement on naming options for the Southern Feeder Road, as well as consultation with residents that live on or near the current Southern Feeder Road construction stage.

In order to change the name of the road, approval needs to be granted by the NSW governments Geographical Names Board.

  • O360 funding agreement

Last night’s Council meeting voted to extend its funding agreement with Orange360 for a further 12 months.

Orange360 is responsible for marketing our region to prospective tourists and working with local business operators and service providers to promote the local tourism sector, in line with the region’s Destination Management Plan.

A report to Council sought to shift the contract renewal cycle to the middle of the four-year Council term to allow incoming Councillors time to better understand the tourism landscape.

The funding agreement will end on 30 June 2026.

  • Meeting date change

The council meeting scheduled for 2 July 2024 has been moved to 9 July.

Council resolved to move this back a week due to the Local Government General Assembly.
