A p-plater had his vehicle impounded after he was caught speeding in Berwick last night.
State Highway Patrol officers intercepted the Subaru WRX on the Monash Freeway about 8pm on 1 June.
The probationary driver was travelling at an alleged speed of 161km/h, without his p-plates.
The 21-year-old Narre Warren South man is expected to be charged on summons with excess speed, driving at a dangerous speed and fail to display P plates.
The Subaru was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1019.
