  • Tickets now on sale for the Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF) Conference being held in Bunbury from 5-6 November 2024
  • Event to showcase South West’s potential as a contributor to the WA and national economies through its role supporting emerging industries

Regional Development Minister Don Punch has today announced tickets are now on sale for a major conference taking place this year, that will further position the South West of Western Australia as an investment destination and centre for innovative industries.

To be held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre over 5 and 6 November 2024, the two-day conference will bring into sharp focus the global trends and the future industries shaping economic growth and jobs creation.

The inaugural Innovative Industries of the Future (IIF 2024) Conference will put the region on the map to visiting investors and decision makers for its potential to contribute to the WA and national economies.

The South West is well-known for its longlist of comparative advantages including its capability to support the clean energy transition through the supply and processing of critical minerals.

The IFF 2024 is led by the South West Development Commission, which will work with key stakeholder groups to stage the conference. Speakers and a program for the inaugural conference will be announced in the near future.

The Cook Government previously announced in the 2024-25 State Budget a total of $1.6m towards an international conference in Bunbury over three years to promote investment into the South West region.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Don Punch:

“Local, national and international leaders from industry and government will come together in Bunbury for the inaugural Innovative Industries of the Future Conference.

“The event will spark critical discussion around the forces shaping diversified economies, as well as showcase the new and emerging industries driving growth and supporting the journey to net zero.

“The South West has so much to offer and is poised to grow as a major contributor to the WA and national economies. There are opportunities presented by the region’s critical minerals and the emergence of green industries, and by the creative and digital tech entrepreneurs that call this region home.

“This new conference series will showcase what the entire South West of Western Australia has to offer both as an investment destination, and as a base for innovative industries to thrive.”
