Stronger Medicare Awards – Nominate Your Medicare Champion Today

Department of Health

Is there a doctor, nurse or health professional who has consistently gone above and beyond for you or your family?

If you know someone like this, then I encourage you to show your appreciation and nominate them for a Stronger Medicare Award.

The Albanese Government is celebrating Australia’s dedicated health professionals as we acknowledge 40 years of Medicare.

Our doctors, nurses and other health professionals are not generally ones to trumpet their success.

The fact is, as humble as they are, Australia’s world-class health system is nothing without the compassionate and experienced people who make it what it is.

In Medicare’s 40th year we want your help to acknowledge the outstanding health professionals who make a real difference to you or your community.

The Stronger Medicare Awards are an opportunity to recognise and honour these Medicare Champions.

We want you to tell us about the outstanding people and health practices that have helped you, with their exceptional care, their innovation, or the way they work together to improve the health of your community.

Individuals, practices or health centres and teams working in health care services out in the community are all eligible to be nominated.

It’s about shining a light on the people who improve the delivery of health care day in and day out.

It’s an opportunity to acknowledge and thank those people who have devoted their careers and lives to delivering quality healthcare, from cradle to grave, in cities and towns, in the regions and in remote communities.

Whether that’s in maternity care, child and adolescent health, preventive health, chronic diseases, mental health or with older Australians.

It’s time to recognise outstanding health professionals for their dedication and devotion to quality care.

It’s time to acknowledge the people who have saved lives and restored people to good health.

It’s time to celebrate the people that have made Medicare what it is today-an enviable universal health care system.
