Teen charged following inquiries into break-ins at Tamworth – Operation Regional Mongoose

A teen will face court today charged following an investigation into two break and enters in the state’s north.

Operation Regional Mongoose is a high-visibility police operation to tackle serious property-related crime committed predominately by young offenders.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation following reports of two break-ins on Hillvue and Cole Road, Tamworth late last year.

Items reported stolen were a computer, gaming console, quad bike, tools, jewellery, and TVs.

Following inquiries, about 10.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 30 April 2024), police attended a home in Tamworth to speak with a boy.

The 14-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.

The teen was charged with two counts of break and enter house steal value, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at a Children’s court on Monday 13 May 2024.
