Police from Melbourne East are investigating after a limited-edition bottle of whiskey was stolen from a business in Southbank.
Investigators have been told a man entered a boutique liquor merchant at an entertainment complex off Whiteman Street about 5.20pm on 22 May.
Once inside the premises he engaged the female staff member in conversation and asked about and to look at a number of bottles of alcohol.
The staff member turned away for a brief moment and it is alleged the man removed a bottle of Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour from the shelf and hid it down the front of his shorts.
The bottle has a store value of $62,000.
The man then left the store.
Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
