Third Person Charged Over Stabbing At Bathurst

A third person has been charged following an investigation into an alleged stabbing in the state’s Central Tablelands at the weekend.

About 3.30pm on Sunday (30 June 2024), emergency services were called to Seymour Street after reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Chifley Police District located a 28-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his chest.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Two people have been arrested and charged in relation to the alleged assault and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested at Bathurst Police Station.

He was charged with affray and common assault and was granted conditional bail to appear before Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
